The Regional Centre for Excellence against Hunger and Malnutrition (CERFAM), together with the Government of Cote d’Ivoire and the World Food Programme (WFP), organized a webinar on “Leveraging digital solutions to advance the food and nutrition agenda: opportunities and challenges from various food-systems perspectives.”

In a rapidly changing and fast-paced world, digital technology has penetrated all aspects of life and human activity. The COVID-19 pandemic was the biggest reminder of this, having brought to fore the urgent need to invest in digital tools in wide-ranging industries and settings. The webinar provided an occasion to explore the role of digitalization within nutrition and food systems transformation for improved nutrition outcomes, sustainable healthy diets, and increasing nutrition resilience of communities while unpacking the opportunities and challenges which come with it.

The webinar featured experts from FFI, BioAnalytGmbH, Dimagi, and WFP’s School-based Programme Division to share their experiences and perspectives on this topic. Dr. Wilson Enzama, FFI Training and Technical Support Advisor, presented FortifyMIS, a system that simplifies the collection, analysis, and sharing of data to improve the outcomes of fortification programs.
